Frequently asked questions

FAQ

Common questions about Fractional CIO / CISO services, cadence, deliverables, and how we work together.

What does a Fractional CIO / CISO engagement cover?

I cover priorities, vendors, delivery, risk, compliance, and practical AI adoption. I show up in the operational meetings that matter. I keep a live project plan so work keeps moving.

I work alongside your MSP or internal resources and provide direct oversight when required. Each cycle ends with a concise report you can forward to your board or leadership team.

How does the cadence work?

You pick the cycle: weekly, every two weeks, or monthly. Each cycle ends with a concise report and an updated project plan.

Weekly makes sense when priorities are moving fast or you need tight oversight on a critical vendor or initiative. Every two weeks is the middle ground. Monthly works when priorities are stable and you need regular judgment without constant check-ins.

The cadence is not locked in forever. If things change, we adjust.

What do I get each cycle?

You get a concise report you can forward to your board, leadership team, or a partner. It is written for people who do not sit in every meeting.

The report names decisions made, with owners and next steps assigned. It includes an updated project plan for active initiatives. It surfaces risks before they become surprises. It tells you what matters this month and what can wait.

No fluffy slide decks. Just clear writing about what happened, what is next, and who owns it.

Do you sit in our meetings?

Yes. I show up in the operational meetings that matter.

Between reports, I am in those meetings, on vendor calls, reviewing contracts, watching delivery, and naming risks. I keep the project plan current so you always know where active initiatives stand.

Who makes the calls?

I present clear and solid direction. I assign priorities, name risks, and keep owners and next steps clear. That is the judgment you hire so those calls do not sit only on you.

How do you work with our MSP or internal IT?

I work alongside your MSP or internal resources. I do not replace them. I provide the oversight and judgment layer.

I keep delivery on track, manage contracts and renewals, watch budget, and keep the project plan current. Your MSP or internal team handles the hands-on work. I make sure that work is aligned with your priorities and moving forward.

What if we need something built?

When something needs to be built, Ghostland can take that on as a separate project. Integration, automation, reporting, voice, and web.

Fractional CIO / CISO stays on judgment and oversight. Ghostland handles the build with its own scope and agreement.

Where are you based and how do we start?

I am based in Whitefish, Montana. I work with clients across the US.

To start, book thirty minutes on my calendar. No fluffy slide decks. Real conversation. I will ask about your priorities, where things are stuck, and what you need to move forward.

If it looks like a fit, I will outline a proposed cadence and scope. If it is not a fit, I will tell you that too.
